born & raised in California, Valerie pulls inspiration from her love of the coastal beauty surrounding her. the warmth of the sun, the sweetness of seaside gardens, the energy of the ocean, & the romance of endless summers.

“I’ve been a dancer ever since I could walk & living by the ocean + being a little surfer girl I naturally got into a local hula halau. This is where I learned lei making, Hawaiian language & hula. My Kumu hula & her family, instilled such a love & respect in me for Hawaiian culture and taught me to cherish the traditions. The word “Haku”(hah-koo) In Hawaiian means “weave” or “to weave” so essentially hakus & Love is meaning “to weave & love”.

I started this company as an outpouring of adoration for flowers, artful creativity & a love to celebrate others. I pour out My whole heart into my floral design & truly find so much happiness working with clients.
